Things have continued to not be boring here in Beaumont! Though I’ve had a few tough, why-am-I-back-here days, I’m feeling more positive overall. Thanksgiving was absolutely terrific and it was nice to not have to worry about driving back and forth from Austin. We started Thanksgiving Day by having lunch at my daddy’s house and ended the day with dinner with Andy’s parents. Both of our parents made delicious homemade chicken and dumplings, so I brought the day to a close by drifting off with a lovely, content, full feeling while attempting to watch football – it was perfection!
Since Thanksgiving, Andy has begun construction on his temporary cabinet shop – which is exciting – and has begun building me a little closet/kitchenette add-on that we have dubbed “Jaimi’s room”. The closet portion is nearly complete and he even surprised me by installing the washing machine so I no longer have to walk to the shed to do laundry. Happy day! The amazing man even installed a speaker in my room so I can jam music while organizing my clothing!
Another development is… we have officially sold the houseboat! I know, I buried the lead a bit, but the truth is I go back and forth on how I feel about it. It’s a bittersweet, but necessary, progression and, once we sign over the papers at the end of December, we will have taken a gigantic step towards moving on. This year has seen many adventures and many changes, but as we move towards the Christmas season, it seems good things are coming our way and I’m sure next year will be full of many interesting surprises. Truth be told, life is never short of interesting surprises.
I love everything you write! I love you and Andy and can’t wait for the next blog.
